GREETING CARD UNIVERSE CAN GO TO HELL

Hi everyone,   (bad language ahead)

I just have to laugh.  I decided to give greeting card universe a shot.  Its another POD that  just does greeting cards.

Before I tell you what they said about my work, let me let you know something first.  I am actually a professional photographer.  I have had my work published in numerous mags.  I have won awards, I have a degree in Fine Arts.  Im not trying to brag, but I want to give you a little background of who I am.

So, with that said, here is what GCU said about my 4 out of 6 submissions.  I also added my remarks that I may plan to send to them: BAD LANGUAGE AHEAD!  These are the reasons why my cards were denied...lol.

COMPOSITION - Placement / Position - specifically, the cutoff flower which creates a lack of visual flow to the composition.MARKETABILITY - No Thank You

(To GCU: uh, the cut off flower is supposed to be cut off as that is not the focal point of the photo.  I did that deliberatly as to not distract the overall theme of the photo)

IMAGE QUALITY - Sharpness / Clarity - the out of focus leaf in the foreground is distracting and lacks the professional polish we look for in new submissions.

(Dear GCU,  WHAT?  the out of focus leaf is to bring out the leaf with the raindrops on it.  Its called MACRO Photographs which the photography takes a specific shot close up and then blur everything in the background to make the main image really stand out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macro_photography.   Look it up, professional  photographers do this all the time.  It's called art.

MARKETABILITY - No Thank You - we have thousands of rose cards on the site and we feel this image lacks the 'wow' factor therefore does not have the ability to compete in our marketplace. (Dear GCU, really?  are you that clueless, this photo was printed in the 'Daily Telegraph' and 'London Times'.  'WOW' factor, really?  I have to ask, what is your professional background?)

This one was sent back for edits:
Please spot clean this image. Petals on flowers should be free of bugs, decay and spots which are distracting and lack a professional polish on greeting cards.

(Dear GCU, now I have heard everything. The bugs and decay on the pedals are the fucking point of the photo you asshole, sorry that my artistic view does not appeal to your senses, it is pretty clear you buy the painting that matches the coach.  Can you please close my account.  Your superior attitude and critques are beyond ridicuoulouis.  NEWSFLASH:  you're just a fucking POD greeting  card company for Pete's sake.   You want me to rework my photos, are you fucking kidding me? Who the hell died and made you the all powerful art critique?    ITS A GREETING CARD SITE DUMBASS.

Here is another:
 1. Please add additional descriptive words including Day (Valentine's Day) to your title.
2. Please add more keywords, and make sure they reference the card's occasion. Please remove 'marriage, wedding' as they are not correct for the card. Remove ' partner' because the card is general, not relationship specific.
3. Please edit the artist notes to include more information about this card.Describe your card in detail as if you were describing it to someone who is not looking at it. This is very important for search engines and shoppers. It should be specific and unique for each card. For example include the occasion, subject matter, colors, type of art, media used, style, who it is for, etc. Do NOT use this for general information like about the artist, take custom requests, how to contact me, thank you for buying my card or the like. See the GCU Blog for Product
4. Please correct your use of the ellipsis on your card. When an ellipsis is used, it must consist of three dots, and have a space before it if it follows a word as in: I just want to say ...
It the ellipsis precedes a word, then it must have a space after it as in: ... that I think you are super! Please add a space before 'you'

R U fucking kidding me.
